Sign up for Greener GMP, where you can choose to buy renewable power. Green Mountain Power's overall power mix is already low in fossil fuels, but now you can choose certified renewable resources for all or a portion of your use. We've called the program "Greener GMP" to reflect that greener choice.

When you sign up for Greener GMP, Green Mountain Power will purchase certified renewable Vermont resources equal to the portion of electricity you designate to purchase through Greener GMP. If enough operating Vermont projects are not available to fill the need, the funds (and any interest accrued while distribution is pending) will be used to fund the development of new Vermont renewable resources. Likely candidates for inclusion would include wind, biomass and biogas.

Residential customers can choose to have Green Mountain Power designate renewable resources equal to 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent or even 100 percent of their monthly use. Commercial and industrial customers may designate any multiple of 10 percent. The additional premium for Greener GMP is currently four cents per kilowatthour.
